Tap Aerators

Status: Implemented

Tap aerators, also known as flow regulators, are installed at the end of site offices faucets. These water-saving devices control the water flow rate through the tap by mixing water with air, maintaining water pressure while reducing water consumption.

By restricting the water flow, aerators help decrease water usage compared to using the faucet without one for the same duration. The perception of water pressure is influenced by the speed at which the water hits a surface, such as hands during handwashing. When an aerator is installed, a high-pressure zone is created behind it. The pressure difference between the high pressure behind the aerator and the low pressure in front of it results in an increased velocity of water flow.
